2012 Blowfish Invitational - Top 8: Quarterfinals

Enrico Guarneri vs Andrew Wright:

Mulliganing to five cards, Andrew Wright conceded Game 1 after Enrico Guarneri's army of Humans had reached critical mass on Turn 3.

Andrew started Game 2, both players took a good look at their hands, Andrew signaled that he will mulligan, seconds later Enrico followed with a Mulligan of his own.

Andrew shakes his head, as he shuffles his second hand back into his deck, he decided he would keep his five cards and opened with a Plains. Enrico played a Hallowed Fountain and tapped it to play a War Falcon. Andrew missed his land drop and Enrico took advantage by playing a Knight of Glory, the War Falcon swung in for 3 damage.

Andrew passed without playing a land yet again, Enrico cast a Silverblade Paladin which bonded with the War Falcon, and swung in along with the Knight of Glory for 6 damage. Andrew draws, flashes a Spectral Flight, and offers his hand, conceding the match.

Jarcque Henning vs Michael Strauss:

We joined Jarcque Henning and Michael Strauss in the second game, after Michael won the first game in the match.

Michael decides to mulligan to six cards, with Jarcque following seconds later with a mulligan. Michael kept his second hand, but Jarcque shuffled his back into his deck, and kept his five.

Jarcque opened with a tapped Hallowed Fountain, Michael played a tapped Blood Crypt. Jarcque dropped a second land in a Swamp and passed back. Michael played a Forest, and Farseeks for another Blood Crypt. Jarcque puts a Island into play, and passed. A Duress stripped Jarcque of a Dissipate from his already depleted hand, with that Michael followed up with Olivia Voldaren.

Jarcque casted Jace, Architect of Thought, and useed the second Fact or Fiction ability looking for a way to keep him in the game.

Michael destroyed Jace, Architect of Thought with Olivia Voldaren, and casted a Thragtrusk. Jarcque plays his fifth land before passing to Michael, who promptly swung with both his creatures, with the help of Kessig Wolf Run, Jarcque dropped to 8 life.

Jarcque drew and passed his turn, Michael swung in with the Thragtusk and Olivia Voldaren, a Think Twice didn't find anything useful for Jarqcue, and he conceded the match.
